Quality Control
From sustainable raw materials to advanced cleanroom manufacturing, we ensure uncompromising quality throughout every step of our bioink production process.
Commitment to quality
We believe that exceptional bioinks begin with exceptional raw materials. By carefully selecting our suppliers and rigorously testing each batch for sterility and endotoxins, we ensure that only the highest-grade ingredients are used in our formulations. Following approval, raw materials are transferred to our aseptic cleanroom facility where every step of production is tightly controlled. To support reproducible research outcomes, we test final bioinks for physical, chemical, and biological parameters including pH, viscosity, appearance, and cytotoxicity—along with specific criteria for materials like GelMA. To support transparency and confidence in our products, our online store includes detailed quality control data for every bioink. Typical test results are clearly presented to help you choose the optimal material for your research.

The quality assurance tests performed on our bioinks
Sterility
We ensure our bioinks are sterile by testing for the presence of viable microorganisms under both aerobic and anaerobic conditions. These tests also identify the potential presence of fungi and yeast to guarantee contamination-free formulations for sensitive cell research.
Endotoxin Level
We assess each batch for endotoxins, which are harmful components found in gram-negative bacterial membranes. These toxins can damage cell membranes and disrupt normal function, particularly in media containing serum, making their detection and control essential.
pH
We measure the pH of our bioinks carefully, as small deviations can significantly affect cellular behavior. A stable pH environment supports healthy cell growth and metabolic function, while improper levels can lead to cytoplasmic contraction or halted cell activity.
Cell Viability
We validate the cytocompatibility of our bioinks by assessing cell viability after a full week of culture in printed constructs. Our tests confirm that cells remain alive, proliferate, and function properly in the bioink environment.
Viscosity
To guarantee smooth and accurate printing, we confirm the shear-thinning behavior of each bioink under room temperature conditions. This ensures the ink flows well during extrusion and maintains structure upon deposition.
Degree of Methacrylation
We quantify the methacrylation degree in GelMA bioinks using proton NMR to ensure reliable photocrosslinking. This metric influences gel stiffness and swelling, both critical to how cells interact with the bioprinted environment.
Gel Point
We identify the precise gelation point of each GelMA-based bioink, which is critical for maintaining performance during printing. A slight temperature deviation can alter viscosity and compromise print fidelity.
